Ideology Critique

“a case of false wax”

      as if false consciousness

      was discharged onto the apple

      by some capitalist cretin.

            “Cinderella syndrome,”

            as enviros chant,

but it’s really just an enormous red apple

      served in everyone’s lunch,

puts them off fruit for the long haul.

However, they appear sparkling edible at the Prince’s ball.

                  What’s the lesson?

You can’t judge an apple by the cover of some advertising manual.
