Earwax

If earwax were your memory

and your doctor chipped it out

like a plague

      you might achieve alzheimer’s

and yet not lose your personality,

            because of the residue,

            the stain of yourself

                  hanging like snot

                  in the caves

                  of your grey matter

            reverberating Jay-Z and the Beatles.
