Package

Stick stone opposing image into hot wax

      fold edges,

insert veracity, ownership

      over sides.

Something like the first draft of a poem gets caught within.

A perfect signature on the lips of an envelope

indicates that none but the intended recipient

has surmounted the arguable premises and unfinished conclusions…

The seal is never exact,

never exactly the same,

and yet we know who is implicated,

      for an expression arises

      immediately upon receipt

      of said tortured letter.
